G.I. Combat #99
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeRuss Heath's cover for this 1963 DC war title puts you right in the thick of it — a star-marked Allied tank charges across what appears to be a beach landing craft ramp while enemy aircraft streak overhead amid bursting explosions and anti-tank obstacles jutting from the surf below. The vivid magenta sky and crackling action give the scene an almost surreal intensity that was Heath's trademark on war covers of the era. Featuring The Haunted Tank in "Battle of the Thirsty Tanks!" with Robert Kanigher writing and Joe Kubert on interior art, issue #99 is a fine example of DC's mid-century war comics firing on all cylinders.
