DC's "Big War Book" arrives in fine form with G.I. Combat #272, cover-dated December 1984 and packed with more than 40 new pages of wartime action. Joe Kubert's cover drops readers into a bombed-out warzone where a lone soldier strides forward through the rubble, arms outstretched, declaring "We're it!" while another voice cries that blood was spilled for nothing — all as a Sherman tank looms in the smoke behind them and wounded men collapse across the shattered ground.
