From the Haunted Tank feature of DC's long-running war anthology comes this wonderfully wild 1976 entry — cover-illustrated by Luis Dominguez — where American GIs crouched behind a star-marked military vehicle level their weapons with full confidence, unaware that a massive, snarling gorilla is looming directly behind them. The cover's speech bubbles capture the delicious irony perfectly: the soldiers are puzzled why the enemy soldiers in the background are laughing, smugly certain they have the upper hand. With a story titled "The Gunner Is a Gorilla" and that hulking beast about to make its presence very known, G.I.
