# G.I. Combat #16 "Trapped Under Fire" depicts American GIs caught in a desperate battle against Mongolian forces during what appears to be a Korean War engagement. After planning a daring attack on an enemy encampment, the soldiers face intense enemy fire and are pinned down with limited escape routes. With their submarine as their only means of escape, the men fight desperately to reach the airstrip and their vessel before enemy forces can overwhelm them, ultimately managing to return to safety aboard their ship after a harrowing firefight involving machine gun barrages and coordinated infantry tactics.
