G.I. Combat #148
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freePacked with wartime tension, this July 1971 issue of DC's long-running G.I. Combat features a Joe Kubert cover that puts you right in the thick of it — a helmeted soldier standing firm amid smoke and gunfire shouts "I'm ready for you buzzards!" while shielding a fallen general from an enemy aircraft's strafing run. Alongside the main feature with Jeb Stuart and the Haunted Tank, the cover previews three additional stories — "Cry Wolf Mission," "Blind Bomber," and "Soften 'Em Up" — making good on the "Two Magazines in One!" banner across the top. At just 25 cents, this is a fine example of Kubert's gritty, kinetic draftsmanship at the height of DC's war comics era.
