Funny Stuff #32

A cheerful scene of animated animal mayhem sets the tone for this 52-page April 1948 DC anthology, with cover art by Otto Feuer showing a round little character gleefully splashing around inside a barrel labeled "DRINKING WATER" while a frustrated frog in a top hat paddles a rickety wooden raft through choppy waves — a makeshift flag billowing above them as two more characters look on from the title banner above. The whole cover radiates that breezy, slapstick energy that made funny-animal comics such a delight in the postwar years. At just ten cents for more than fifty pages, Funny Stuff #32 delivered plenty of cartoon charm for the price.
