Funny Stuff #13

A fishing trip goes delightfully sideways on Ron Santi's cover for this September 1946 DC humor title, where a young anthropomorphic rabbit stands wide-eyed in a rowboat, fishing line pulled taut, crying "Help, Unc! I think I got a whale!" — while below the waterline, a very unhappy, very human-looking fellow is the one who's been hooked and is splashing to the surface. It's the kind of perfectly timed comic misunderstanding that made Funny Stuff such a cheerful staple of postwar funny-animal comics, and this issue also features the Stan Green story "J. Rufus from Borneo!" inside. Ten cents well spent for a boat full of laughs.
