Frontier Scout, Dan'l Boone #10

Daniel Boone agrees to help a Native American village led by Chief Blackfish hunt game during a harsh winter, but becomes caught up in a conflict when the chief's warriors take a woman captive and plan an ambush. Boone manages to rescue the woman and escape down the river, then devises a plan to infiltrate the enemy camp by pretending to be a Pawnee scout. After being discovered within an hour, Boone must rely on his wits and woodland skills to evade capture and return safely to warn the commanding general of the approaching war party.
