Expanding on the world of Minor Threats, this Dark Horse series puts a small but fists-raised heroine front and center — literally — as she stands defiantly before a crowd of eerily glowing-eyed figures while an enormous armored giant looms behind her, gem-topped fist raised overhead. It's a cover composition that nails the "one against many" tension with a warm, almost storybook visual style, thanks to Scott Hepburn's pencils and inks. With Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, and Heath Corson co-writing and I.N.J. Culbard handling art and color throughout, "The First Family of Supervillainy" promises plenty of personality to go along with the peril.
