"American Nightmare Part One!" kicks off the 2010 Freedom Fighters series with a high-stakes, multi-front mission: Firebrand and Black Condor clash with the Aryan Brigade in a high-risk casino showdown, while the Human Bomb races against time to reroute an asteroid hurtling toward Earth. Meanwhile, the Ray and Phantom Lady dive into a mysterious invasion in a quiet town, and Uncle Sam unites the team after the Vice-President’s sudden disappearance—leading them to a hidden mesa and the shocking rediscovery of the imprisoned Four Corners. Written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, with dynamic art by Travis Moore and Trevor Scott, and colored by Rob Schwager, this issue blends urgent action with deep mystery. The cover by Dave Johnson captures the team’s intensity in bold, striking detail.
