Freddy #38

Freddy takes his date Peggy to a monster movie, then walks her home through the dark—confident there's nothing to fear, despite her nerves about all those creatures on screen. Alone in an empty house (his parents away visiting relatives), he tries to shake off the movie's lingering dread, only to hear a mysterious tapping at his bedroom window in the dead of night.

Freddy and his pal Stuff get dragged to the new Museum of Modern Art by their fathers, who are determined to expose the hotrod-obsessed teens to some culture. What begins as reluctant attendance quickly spirals into comedic chaos as the boys cause mayhem throughout the galleries, turning priceless modern art into collateral damage in their attempts to humor their well-meaning parents.

Freddy takes a group of Cub Scouts on a woodland hike, positioning himself as an expert woodsman despite his shabby appearance and mounting mishaps. As he confidently demonstrates his knowledge of nature—from safe walking to identifying wildlife and edible mushrooms—each "lesson" lands him in comedic trouble, leaving the Scouts decidedly unimpressed. The next day, when their Scoutmaster asks how the expedition went, the kids have a punchline ready about his mushroom expertise and its aftermath.

Freddy dreams of building a hot-rod to enter the drag race, but his scheme to buy Harold's old jalopy hits a snag when the snobby Harold refuses to sell—until Freddy and his pal Stuff persuade him to change his mind with some friendly negotiation. Now Freddy's racing against the clock to assemble his new car from spare parts before the big race, only to discover that getting the thing running is a whole different challenge.
