Fred takes his ventriloquist dummy to Mugwhump's for a job offer, but en route the dummy leaves disparaging messages for Fred. Upset, Fred leaves the dummy behind but upon reaching Mugwhump's theatre turns back to retrieve the dummy – but the dummy is gone.
