Freak Force #2

From Image Comics' early 1994 lineup comes Freak Force #2, and this cover wastes absolutely no time making an impression — a massive shark-headed humanoid dominates the foreground, jaws wide open and teeth gleaming, with a colorfully costumed figure caught right in its grip. Behind the chaos, the rest of the Freak Force crew — including a hulking red beast with wild blonde hair, a smaller figure in goggles, and a composed blonde man in a suit — look on amid an urban backdrop. Cover pencils by Vic Bridges and inks by Karl Kesel give the whole scene a kinetic, larger-than-life energy that fits perfectly with the wild superhero action Image was delivering that year.
