Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #11

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, this 2012 issue plunges Frankenstein into the depths as he charges sword-first toward an enormous submerged creature — its vast, pore-riddled hide dominating the lower right of the cover in genuinely unsettling detail. The cover art by Alberto Ponticelli and Wayne Faucher captures S.H.A.D.E.'s stitched-together agent mid-lunge, cloak billowing underwater, every bit as ferocious as the Leviathan threat the cover banner promises. Matt Kindt continues his run on the series here, and with a monster this scale waiting in the deep, issue #11 looks like a thrilling chapter in the saga.
