The New 52's zero-issue spotlight on DC's most formidable undead operative delivers a striking image: Frankenstein, green-skinned and stitched together, bursts through a surface with raw, unstoppable force — a flintlock pistol in one hand and what appears to be a staff or weapon raised overhead, his expression all gritted teeth and fury. Alberto Ponticelli's pencils and Wayne Faucher's inks give the monster-agent a visceral physicality that suits the series' pulpy, action-charged tone perfectly. With Matt Kindt writing "Meeting His Maker," this 2012 issue promises to dig into the origins of S.H.A.D.E.'s most unusual field agent.
