Forgotten Realms Comic Book #9

DC's Forgotten Realms series brings the beloved TSR fantasy setting to vivid life, and issue #9 — subtitled "Minder's Story: The Day After" — delivers a cover that's hard to look away from. Rags Morales and Dave Simons stage a chaotic shipboard scene where massive tentacles from some enormous sea creature crash down across the deck, sending three warriors scrambling — a muscular bare-chested fighter bracing in the foreground, a figure in yellow mid-stumble, and a dark-haired companion struggling nearby, while a fourth character lies prone below. Writer Jeff Grubb's Forgotten Realms run was always strong on high-seas adventure and ensemble action, and this April 1990 issue looks to deliver both in generous measure.
