# Forbidden Worlds #30 This anthology issue contains multiple stories. "The Thing at the Beach" features a yellow, demonic creature with antenna attacking people on a shoreline. "The Street That Was" follows Paul Harmon, a ruthless killer and FBI public enemy #1 who escapes jail and encounters ghostly apparitions on city streets; desperate and hungry, he seeks a gun at a pawn shop, only to have his touch kill those around him as supernatural vengeance catches up with him. A third story involves a maritime adventure where a woman accused of murder is marooned on a ship with crew members, ultimately being cast away to a nearby island. The final visible story concerns a wealthy man named Thorne at an auction who covets a portrait of a woman named Maria, only to discover that the Corbie family murders him in revenge, claiming the portrait will haunt him eternally.

When Public Enemy #1 Paul Harmon breaks out of jail and flees to his old neighborhood, he discovers a street that shouldn't exist—one assembled from every house and moment that shaped his violent past. As he races through this impossible place, reliving the key decisions that made him a killer—his mother's death, his rejection of help, his romance with Mary, his crimes with Mike—Paul begins to see the man he might have become if he'd chosen differently. Hunted by police and haunted by his own choices, he must confront whether redemption is still possible, or if the street has already decided his fate.

A troublemaker named Rogers is marooned on a remote island as punishment for murder, only to discover the place is far more hostile than promised—devoid of the fruit and game the captain claimed would sustain him. Desperate to survive, Rogers subsists on the island's only abundant life form, and over weeks of isolation, something horrifying begins to transform him into something no longer human. When a rescue ship finally arrives, Rogers has become a nightmare bent on revenge against those who left him to die.
