Foolkiller #2
Dave Johnson's cover for this 2017 Marvel series says it all with darkly comic flair: a masked, armored Foolkiller looms above a crowd of red-jacketed, skull-badged goons, dual pistols raised, while a bouquet of cheerfully passive-aggressive balloons floats above him reading things like "Sorry for the Pain," "Oops! I Shot U Again," and "Sorry for Killing U." The juxtaposition of greeting-card whimsy against genuine menace perfectly captures the twisted tonal balancing act that writer Max Bemis and artist Dalibor Talajić are going for with this series. If issue one left you curious, this cover makes a pretty convincing case that Foolkiller has a very specific, very entertaining point of view.

Alex King becomes Shit King (a brown costumed hero whose logo is a steaming pile of feces) after Fin Fang Foom killed his family. He reveals that his family was killed when Fin Fang Foom excreted feces on them during a family BBQ and while the feces didn't kill him, it gave him superpowers allowing him to secrete a foul smell that can stun a man. Tired of his wretched existence, he asks Foolkiller to kill him, which he does.
