Flash Gordon Annual #[1967]

In the story "null," Flash Gordon returns to the planet Mongo, where radium is abundant, to secure a vital resource for maintaining peace on Earth. There, he confronts Bellam and the enigmatic Dr. Dravo, who have concocted a deadly serum meant to control humanity—though not all is as it seems, and the true intentions of the scientists begin to unravel.

In "Midnight with Mandrake!", Mandrake and Lothar patrol the city square when they spot a malfunctioning candy ring sign releasing dangerous gas into the crowd. Using his signature hypnosis smoke rings, Mandrake turns the criminals' minds against themselves, convincing them they’re iron rings—leading to their surrender and arrest.

In the underground city of Krenkelium, Flash Gordon and Dr. Zarkov find themselves imprisoned by Princess Darla and her father after their Mole Machine is seized. Trapped in a hidden world beneath Mongo, they must prove their worth when a dangerous threat emerges—forcing them to act in secret, with the princess’s help, to save the city they were meant to abandon.
