Flash #66
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFlash #66 delivers one of the most self-aware covers DC put out in 1992 — the title boldly proclaims "Flash vs. Aquaman," but a cheeky "…NOT!" speech bubble from a supremely unimpressed, arms-folded Aquaman, paired with a corner-box warning that "this scene does NOT appear in this issue," lets you know writer Mark Waid and the creative team are having genuine fun with reader expectations. The cover by Michael Collins and José Marzán Jr. plants both heroes at a starting line, the Flash mid-stride in his scarlet suit while the King of the Seas looks thoroughly unbothered in green and gold. It's a playful, confident piece of comics humor that makes you want to flip straight to "Fish Story" to find out what's really going on.
