“Death at the Top of the World, Part 3”

The concluding chapter of the "Three of a Kind" crossover brings The Flash sprinting across open water in full crimson costume, lightning crackling around him as he carries a young boy and a dark-haired woman to safety — a sinking vessel and a lurking shark fin visible in the background. Guest appearances by Green Lantern and Green Arrow make this March 1998 issue a genuine team-book treat, with cover art by Rodolfo Damaggio and Robert Campanella that captures the Scarlet Speedster's urgency beautifully. Writers Grant Morrison and Mark Millar bring "Death at the Top of the World" to its finale, with Paul Ryan and John Nyberg handling interior art duties.
