The Scarlet Speedster finds himself in an unexpected political arena in this December 1996 installment, kicking off "Presidential Race" with a cover by Mike Wieringo and José Marzán Jr. that puts Flash front and center at a chaotic political rally — confetti filling the air, signs scattered underfoot, and a crowd of onlookers reacting with a mix of excitement and alarm as he sprints alongside a black limousine. Writers Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn team with artist Paul Ryan and inker John Nyberg to promise a story where super-speed and the campaign trail make for a very unusual combination.
