Flash #12
Flash #12 from May 1988 puts a peculiar new speedster front and center — the Kapitalist Kourier, a white-and-red-suited figure sporting a dollar-sign emblem and goggled helmet, sprinting ahead of a green-clad pursuer on what looks like a racing track. Larry Mahlstedt's cover composition captures the frenetic energy of a super-speed chase with real flair, and the tagline "When it has to be there in a Flash!" hints at the mercenary angle this villain brings to the world of velocity. As an added bonus, the issue includes a free 16-page second feature, making it an especially solid read from Mike Baron and Mike Collins's run on the title.
