The third chapter of this five-part DC epic arrives with a striking cover by George Pérez — a cool, determined figure in a dark tactical suit extends both hands forward, concentric rings of energy emanating from his palms with tiny figures visible within them, set against a cool blue textured background. The "Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds" trade dress frames the image with bold vertical lettering, giving the whole composition a sense of controlled, building power. With Geoff Johns writing and Pérez both penciling and inking, this miniseries was delivering some genuinely ambitious DC storytelling in 2009.
