The teaser line "Strange… Terrible… 'The Enemies Below'" sets an eerie tone that blends classic war-comic action with something far more unsettling beneath the waves. Jack Abel's pencils and Dick Giordano's inks give the whole thing a vivid, dynamic energy that makes this still-ten-cent issue a satisfying snapshot of early-'60s Charlton at its most adventurous.
