“Image of Glory Part 1”

The cover of this 1965 Charlton issue puts America's Super Squad in a genuinely dire spot — surrounded by a sea of enemies, with a bald villain demanding "Choose now!" while one of the squad's red-beret-wearing members charges forward rifle in hand, exclaiming "We're surrounded — by a whole army!" Dick Giordano's cover art captures the tension beautifully, staging a tense standoff between the outnumbered Fightin' Five and what appears to be an overwhelming enemy force closing in from every direction. With the cover question "Can this really be the end of America's Super Squad...?" hanging in the air, this is a sharp slice of 1960s military adventure comics at their most gripping.
