Fightin' Army #52
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis Charlton war anthology from 1963 packs three stories into one 12-cent package, teased right on the cover: "Overtime Soldier" set in Korea, "2 Against 1000" set in West Germany, and "A Nazi in the Family — Cousin Rudolph." Sam Glanzman's cover art captures the chaos of the front lines with a military truck roaring through an explosion, soldiers laying down fire amid a hail of "TAK TAK TAK" sound effects, and a figure blown skyward by a "BLAM" burst — all rendered with the kinetic energy Charlton's war titles did so well. With interior work by writer Joe Gill and the art team of Charles Nicholas and Vince Alascia, this is a solid slice of early-'60s combat comics storytelling.
