Major Spud Lewis is blown out of the air over Hamburg during a special mission and becomes one of "The Boys Upstairs," a group of Allied airmen stranded behind enemy lines. The surviving crew members must work together to destroy a critical Japanese island installation while evading capture. After loading fragmentation and incendiary bombs aboard their aircraft, the team makes a daring bombing run on Hamburg before attempting to return to Allied territory, with Captain Jackson Hale leading the effort to get everyone home safely.
