Jasper Rupert runs a hardware store. When his employee, Walt Dawson, tries to steal money out of the cash register, he is caught in the act by Rupert and handed over to the police. Dawson is sentenced to five years of hard labor. When he gets out, he plans on killing Rupert. Dawson kills the wrong man and is shot dead by the police.
