Warren Ellis and Ben Templesmith's gritty crime series continues with issue eight, and Templesmith's cover sets the mood perfectly — a lone blond figure in a dark suit walks a shadowy corridor, a smear of deep red spreading ominously across the floor behind him, with ghostly architectural sketches looming above. The split composition, pale and clinical on top against the murky, atmospheric scene below, captures exactly the unsettling tension that makes Fell such a compelling read. At $1.99, this Image series remains one of 2007's most atmospheric noir offerings.
