Warren Ellis and Ben Templesmith's Fell continues its gritty exploration of Snowtown's darkest corners with this 2007 Image installment. Ben Templesmith's cover is a striking split composition — the upper half washed in cool white and patterned with repeating biohazard symbols, while the lower half erupts in vivid swirls of red, yellow, and blue around a silhouetted figure hunched over a glowing object clutched close to his chest. The contrast between clinical dread above and turbulent, almost hallucinatory color below sets a mood that's equal parts unsettling and compelling.
