Captain Fortune accepts a dangerous mission from Governor Chadwick: to discover what became of the ship Dragon, a gold-laden vessel that vanished near the Barren Islands. When Fortune's ship arrives at the islands, he and his crew uncover a sinister scheme—the lighthouse keeper has been murdered, and natives, manipulated by a scheming witch doctor, have been using the darkened beacon to lure ships onto the rocks. Fortune must use his wits and courage to infiltrate the enemy stronghold, rescue the Dragon's crew, and recover the stolen gold before the conspirators can escape.
