“Through a Helleyes Darkly!”

Adventure Into Fear #29 (1975) plunges Morbius the Living Vampire into a genuinely unsettling confrontation with a massive, grotesque creature covered in dozens of staring eyes — the menacing Helleyes — while a gun-wielding human figure lurks nearby, threatening that Morbius won't survive long enough to face the next threat. The cover tagline "Death Has a Thousand Eyes!" captures the creepy, surreal energy perfectly, with Morbius diving fearlessly into the chaos promised by the subtitle "Chaos in a World Born of Nightmare!" Cover pencils by Ron Wilson and John Romita, inked by Bob McLeod and John Romita, deliver a wonderfully unnerving image that sets the stage for Bill Mantlo's story inside, brought to life by artist Don Heck.
