In the shadowed alleys of Venice during a lavish carnival, the 11th Fantomet’s wife, Renata di Mascarelli, is lured to a mysterious gathering by a distant relative—Comte di Thanatos—only to be ambushed by masked assassins hired by a cloaked figure in a physician’s mask. With Alrico dead and Renata taken, the 21st Fantomet and his son Kit follow the trail to the eerie San Michele cemetery, where the di Thanatos couple await, backed by the deadly Singh-piraterna and their enigmatic master, messer Grande.
