As David Wells, driven by greed and aided by a treacherous guide, leads an expedition into the jungle, betrayal unfolds in layers—first from his financier, then from the guide himself. With the help of Trigger and Julius Cæsar’s memory, the Phantom tracks the guide across the skies and back to the earth, reclaiming the cup and ensuring justice before returning it to Skull Cave and sending Wells away with a lesson.
