Fantastic Four #578
From Jonathan Hickman and Dale Eaglesham's 2010 run comes Fantastic Four #578, "Prime Elements 4: The Cult of the Negative Zone" — and this Alan Davis and Mark Farmer cover sets an ominous tone perfectly. A massive, glowing-eyed mechanical or alien face dominates the foreground in sickly green, with Mr. Fantastic, the Thing, and a rocky-skinned figure reflected within its curved surfaces as though trapped or observed. The tagline — "Here, you die. In the Negative Zone, you can live." — promises the kind of high-stakes, dimension-spanning drama that made Hickman's FF tenure so compelling.
