Fanboys vs. Zombies #5

The streets of San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter make for one wild battlefield in this fifth issue of BOOM! Studios' horror-comedy series, with a battle-scarred black van plowing through the undead while survivors hang off its sides and a fierce fighter strikes a pose on the roof — all while a grotesque zombie head looms in the upper corner. Khary Randolph's cover crackles with kinetic energy, balancing genuine dread and irreverent fun in equal measure. Sam Humphries and Jerry Gaylord's mashup of con culture and zombie chaos is clearly hitting its stride by issue five.
