Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet's series — billed as "an erotic depiction of faith, sex, and the devil in the tradition of the divine comedy" — hits its second chapter from BOOM! Studios with a cover that perfectly captures its otherworldly atmosphere. Paul Pope's art, colored by Daniel Semanas, plunges us into a neon-drenched nightclub scene where a young woman dances at center stage, a wolf crouching low at her feet, while revelers and a cloaked, bat-winged figure lurk in the glowing, red-lantern-lit shadows around her. It's a seductive, unsettling tableau that makes issue #2 feel like a party where the guest list includes things that probably shouldn't exist.
