The penultimate chapter of Ted McKeever's five-issue Vertigo series arrives with a cover as unsettling as the title suggests — a skeletal, black-robed figure looms over what appears to be a graveyard, clutching a tangled cross of yellow and red against a bleached, ghostly backdrop. McKeever's raw, expressionistic linework gives the whole image a fever-dream quality, with the subtitle "Wars and Rumors of Wars" etched across the composition like a warning.
