Extreme Carnage: Lasher #1

Part of Marvel's 2021 Extreme Carnage event, this one-shot puts the green-and-red symbiote Lasher front and center — quite literally, as the massive creature crouches in a menacing crouch, its whip-like tendrils splayed wide against a rain-soaked urban skyline while a lone human figure cowers in the background beneath a distant aircraft. Skan's painted cover work gives Lasher a visceral, almost feral presence that makes it easy to see why this offspring of Venom has earned its own spotlight. With a script by Clay McLeod Chapman and interior art from Chris Mooneyham and Danilo S. Beyruth, this is a compelling stop on one of 2021's darkest symbiote sagas.
