Exciting Comics #61 from May 1948 delivers a pulse-quickening cover by Alex Schomburg — a red-haired, dagger-wielding Judy of the Jungle sprints through a tropical landscape with a snarling black panther lunging at her heels, the tension practically leaping off the page. The issue also prominently features The Black Terror, "Nemesis of Crime," rounding out a lineup that made Pines' anthology title one of the more entertaining ten-cent reads of the era. Interior art comes from Ralph Mayo, making this a fine example of late-1940s adventure comics firing on all cylinders.
