As Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris near the finish line of their acclaimed WildStorm series, issue #47 arrives with a cover that's equal parts haunting and beautiful. Harris's art depicts a slight, vulnerable figure crouching at the center of the composition, overshadowed by a looming, darkly rendered face above — the tension between the two figures rendered in a moody palette of deep greens, blacks, and warm coral by colorist JD Mettler. "Pro-Life Part Three" promises that whatever conflict has been building is heading somewhere genuinely unsettling.
