The second issue of BOOM! Studios' Eve arrives with a cover by Ario Anindito that is quietly, compellingly haunting — a young girl with eyes closed and an expression of deep calm, suspended behind a brass porthole as bubbles drift around her against a deep crimson backdrop. The decaying green machinery surrounding the porthole, threaded with pipes and cables, gives the whole image a sense of something fragile held within something industrial and vast. Writer Victor LaValle and artist Jo Mi-Gyeong, with colors by Brittany Peer, continue building what already feels like one of 2021's most visually distinctive series.
