Eternals #3
The third chapter of Marvel's twelve-issue Eternals limited series arrives with a cover by Keith Pollard that makes an immediate impression: a powerful, shouting figure — introduced here as Phastos, the Deviant Slayer Supreme — wields an enormous weapon that erupts in a blinding burst of energy, while a horde of grotesque pink Deviants crowds the background and one lunges at him from the foreground. Peter B. Gillis and Sal Buscema are steering this 1985 saga, and the cover's raw kinetic energy sets a confident tone for the series. If you haven't been following this underrated limited run, this visually charged installment is a fine reason to catch up.
