Essential Ghost Rider #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume collects the early adventures of Johnny Blaze as the fiery-skulled Ghost Rider, reprinting his first series from Marvel Spotlight #5-12 and Ghost Rider (1973) #1-20. It also includes the debut of Daimon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan, and crossover appearances with Spider-Man, the Thing, and Hercules. Presented in Marvel's black-and-white Essentials format, this collection captures the supernatural horror and motorcycle-riding action that defined the character's 1970s era.
In "Ghost Rider," the vengeful spirit of a World War I flying ace returns to torment his former enemy, a German pilot from the past, as the legacy of war echoes through time. The modern-day grandson of the fallen pilot finds himself caught in the crossfire, while Ghost Rider steps in to confront a haunting that spans decades. Written by Tony Isabella and illustrated by Frank Robbins, with inks by Frank Giacoia and Mike Esposito, and lettered by Karen Mantlo, the issue's striking cover by Gil Kane and Joe Sinnott captures the supernatural tension of a story where past sins refuse to stay buried.
