Snow falls across a mountain wilderness as a figure in a heavy jacket crouches low, a glowing weapon sparking at their fingertips, while a military helicopter bears down through the purple twilight sky behind them — it's a tense, atmospheric setup worthy of the story title "Cold Comforts." Greg Horn's painted cover work gives this 1997 Image series a cinematic, thriller-like quality that sets Espers #6 apart from the superhero pack. James D. Hudnall and Horn make a compelling team, and this issue looks like a fine entry point into the series' blend of psychic intrigue and high-stakes action.
