With the city on edge and the security police led by Seecht closing in, Karta finds himself trapped in a web of suspicion, forced to unravel the truth before he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit.

A lone grasshopper finds unexpected welcome in an ant colony, enjoying the rhythm of life among the worker ants—until he witnesses the queen’s harsh rule, prompting him to take flight before he can be drawn deeper into a society that demands more than he’s willing to give.

Canardo and Valembois press on toward the realm of the white birds, joined unexpectedly by the young Carmen, whose path crosses theirs in the wilds. Clara and Josef follow close behind, their own motives still hidden as the journey deepens into the unknown.
