Marvel's prestige fantasy and science-fiction anthology returns with a cover by John Bolton that is genuinely hard to look away from: a woman seated at a vanity recoils in horror as her mirror reflects not her own face but the roaring maw of a massive, fang-filled creature, its breath seeming to billow outward into the room. The tension between the elegant domestic setting — dresser, trinkets, a small statuette — and that monstrous visage makes for a deeply unsettling image that captures everything Epic Illustrated did best in 1983. Inside, the issue also features "Dog in the Donor Bank," written and fully illustrated by Mike Saenz, rounding out another strong entry in Marvel's mature-readers anthology series.
