In Energons #5 (1988), the last of the Energons face off against the twisted Evill and the enigmatic Dredd on a war-torn future Earth. When Evill prepares to strike, Dredd's sudden intervention with a deadly ray reveals a chilling motive—and sets off a chain of events that culminates in a shadowy entity emerging from Evill’s remains, dragging Dredd into a swirling dimensional rift. With their foes vanquished, the Energons prepare to use the transporter to return home, but the shadows of what they’ve seen linger. Written and illustrated by Sherman Burnett, with cover art by Sherman Burnett, this 1988 Firebird Press issue delivers a tense, atmospheric showdown where loyalty and fate are as unstable as the dimension itself.
