Empyre: X-Men #4

The final chapter of Marvel's 2020 Empyre X-Men tie-in arrives with a cover by Kyle Hotz that earns every cent of its cover price — a sprawling, nightmarish tangle of dark vines and writhing plant-creature bodies swallowing the battlefield whole. Rising above the chaos, a winged figure brandishes a gleaming sword while Dazzler struggles below, Wolverine's claws cut through the mass at the bottom, and a horned red figure looms to the right, all of them fighting to keep their heads above a tide of vegetation-born horror. Jonathan Hickman and artists Jorge Molina and Lucas Werneck close out this four-issue series with what promises to be a fittingly overwhelming showdown.
